Before that…
From 2012 to 2014 the members of Kinitiras traveled to many primary schools and kindergartens in Attica through the interactive performance “The Circus that slept”. Living inside the school and learning the needs, relationship or lack of relationship of adults and children with their bodies, we decided, apart from going to the school ourselves, to invite the teachers to Kinitiras!
In the 2014-15 school year, we organized an annual workshop for teachers which, through the body and movement, aimed to provide tools for the development of non-verbal communication in the classroom and the approach of children through the unspoken and, at first sight, silent stories of the body. After its successful completion, we decided to repeat it in 2015-16 as well.
In the 2015-16 school year, we presented the performance “My Fish”, based on the Brothers Grimm’s fairy tale, “The Fisherman and his Wife”, in schools and the Roes Theatre in collaboration with the Rēs Ratio Network.
In the 2017-18 school year, we presented to teenagers, secondary school students, Arkas’ comics in a hilarious composition of texts entitled “Life flying low”. In addition, we organized Susana Abigador’s experiential workshop for teachers on Body Expression.
In the 2018-19 school year, Kinitiras presented the improvisation performance of dance and music “In the Country of WhereHowWhy!” coordinated by Sania Stribakou and Susana Abigador’s closed course Experiential Methodology for Bodily Expression.
We believe that by investing in the school community we are investing in the future. Through movement and dance, our society can become better…
