Sergiu Matis was born in the city Cluj-Napoca in Romania and studied dance initially in Liceul de Coregrafie, his birth place (1991-2000). Later he studied in the Akademie des Tanzes in Mannheim with a scholarship from Tanzstiftung Birgit Keil.
He started his professional career in the Tanztheater in Nuremberg, where among others he worked with Daniela Kurz, Stijn Celis, Jo Strømgren, Catherine Guerin, Rodolfo Leoni, Russell Maliphant, Lionel Hoche, Jo Kanamori, Rui Horta, Javier de Frutos, Andre Gingras, Jorma Elo.
He has taken part in many workshops from which he has gained important experience on many fields, like the Klein technique, composition, mask improvisation and theatre, as well as methods of teachers like William Nadylam (Peter Brook company), Duccio Bellugi-Vannuccini (Theatre du Soleil), Compagnie Alias-Geneva, Julien Hamilton.
Since 2008 he lives and works in Berlin with Sasha Waltz&Guests, as well as with Yossi Berg, Oded Graf and Colette Sadler-Stammer Productions.
During his time as a choreographer and since 2001 he has produced many dance performances, like:: «Human Nature», «Landing» «ThreeDoors.Search», «Crossover Dreams», «89.Grenzenlos», «Ploaie de vara», «Ending-dong», as well as five short choreographies during «Tanzkunst» in the Neues Museum in Nuremberg.
Nowadays he cooperates with Nefeli Skarmea for the work «DoomRoom». During the research process, he performed the research findings with the piece «All of the sudden» in 2010. «DoomRoom» is supported by Radialsystem and Labor Gras in Berlin, as well as by Kinitiras in Athens.
Ladislav Zajac was born in 1978 in Kosice, a city of the Slovak Republic.
He completed his studies in Fine Arts, Sculpture and Art in Public Space in the Fine Art Academy in Nuremberg and in Palermo in 2006, while he received the Meisterschüler title in 2004.
Since 2004 he had had many individual exhibitions and participations in group exhibitions in the whole Europe, like in the Austrian Conference Centre of Vienna, the Shedhalle in Zurich, the Teatro Garibaldi alla Kalsa in Palermo, the Galerie Umeni in Karlovy Vary , the Shunt Vaults in London, the Kreisgalerie in Nuremberg, the Art Fair Suomi in Helrsinki , the Galerie der Künstler in Munich, the Benaki Museum in Athens and the HCU in Hiroshima.
Since 2006 he has been creating space installations and stage backdrops for dance performances. In 2009 he was awarded the Art Promotion prize from the Ministry of Culture of Bavaria for his scenography work.
He has been the curator of many exhibitions and lately of the Oil on Canvas exhibition in the ex- industrial complex of AEG in Nuremberg, which was important for the award of the First appearance Artist prize of Bavaria, which will take place in April 2011.
Nowadays he cooperates with Sabrina Hölzer in a concert performance, which will take place in Berlin and in Salzburg Biennale
He lives, works and prays in Berlin and in the province of Fragonia.
