Kinitiras studio -artistic residency centre is very glad to announce the residency of the American awarded author and director, professor of Columbia University, Edward Pomerantz (www.edwardpomerantz.com).
During his stay in Greece many events will take place in cooperation with Athens Fringe Festival, the Greek American Union and Synergeio.
Edward Pomerantz (www.eddiepomerantz.com) was awarded with two Writers Guild of America prize. Nowadays he teaches script writing in the Columbia University Film School and he is the founder and manager of Writing Academy of Harlem Arts Alliance Dramatic Writing Academy.
One of his 35 workshops was for the film CAUGHT, a film by Sony Pictures Classics, based on the INTO IT novel, which was suggested for three Independent Spirit Awards.
Master Class – Physical Comedy
On Tuesday 8th June, the resident artist Edward Pomerantz will lead a Master Class on physical comedy for performers and writers, focusing on the relationship of the writer with the role he creates.
He will use examples from his work, reading extracts from his works and scripts. He will talk about a character is created through the way that he/she is moving, through enlightening gestures and actions. He will focus on how the intensity, speed and rhythm of the role are defined during its creation.
Finally, projections from known films will be used to ignite discussions about how a character is created. Edward Pomerantz (www.eddiepomerantz.com) has been awarded with two Writers Guild Of America Awards. Nowadays he teaches script writing in Columbia (Columbia University Film School) and is the founder and manager of the Writing Academy of Harlem (Harlem Arts Alliance Dramatic Writing Academy).
