Transition ECB 18/12 → Works in Progress and Meet the Artists
A dance that attempts to combine the Congolese tradition with modern European trends, to talk about the hope that is not lost even in the most difficult conditions. The journey of a foreigner who gives her name to a continent and people who turn into fish, the exploration of the transition to the space of the unknown using the body as a tool and a dance documentary on the online collaboration and the verbal and dance dialogue between two dancers from Europe and Africa.
Blaise Mangitukulu from the Democratic Republic of the Congo, Emilie Vaudou from France, Marilena Sitaropoulou from Greece and Patricia Woltmann from Germany will share material with us from four works in progress, in different stages of development, prepared during the International Community Dance Residency Transition|Enter Communities of Body.
We will also watch a short video with material from the workshops animated by the artists at the end of November, to share their research and draw material from the communities.
Last but not least, we will have the joy of having with us the artists themselves, online from their current place of residence and work, for a discussion that will be moderated by the dance researcher and dramaturg, Dr. Betina Panagiotara. The concept of transition, the exchange between Europe and Africa, the collaboration in the flesh, from a distance and with the use of widely used digital media in order to create Community Dance works in progress and workshops are the topics that the artists explored.
On Friday 18/12, 2-5 p.m. , wherever you are, we will come to you to share this exceptional process. All you need to do is connect to the internet and go to www.kinitiras.com/transitionecb/online_broadcasting.

I Enter Communities of Body.
