The body is our tool. It is the medium that we will make use of in order to express ourselves, create and co-exist.
This particular class gives people with or without movement disabilities the chance to dance in their own way and improvise individually or in groups. Its class will present a new experience.
Eygenia Sigalou is a dancer and pedagogue. She was born in Athens and studied dance in the State School of Orchestral Art (1999-2002) and pedagogics in the National Kapodistrian University of Athens (1999-2005). Since 2003 she works with Antigoni Gyra as a member of the Kinitiras Network. She has also cooperated with choreographers like Artemis Ignatiou, Natasa Zouka, Kiki Baka, Foti Nikolaou, Valia Papachristou, Maria Koliopoulou, as well as in productions of Megaro Mousikis Festival. She has worked as a teacher in the Greek German school Athener Schule. Since 2007 she has been teaching dance in private schools.
Ntemi Papathanasiou has been dancing since 2013 attending the dance workshops of the Onassis Cultural Centre for people with and without movement disabilities and taking part in the International Dance Festival “Unlimites Access”, which took place in Athens. Since then she has attended many mixed workshops in both Greece and abroad with mixed abilities dance companies (Candoco Dance Company, Spinn Dance Company, Stopgap Dance Company). Recently she completed her studies in dance obtaining a Minor BA in Contemporary Dance Practice from American College of Greece. She also Axis Dance Company’s seminar in teaching mixed groups. She also presented her first choreographic piece at Our Festival 4 in August 2018 within the Festival of Chalandri.
