Performing Erasmus+ is a training course and networking event for cultural youth workers. Generally, this means artists working with young people. It is suitable for those aged 18 and over (with no upper age limit) who already have some experience as facilitators of young people in the field of performance, music, dance, film or creativity. It is also suitable for traditional youth workers and youth work organizations who do not have a lot of experience in these practices. Specifically, Performing Erasmus+ is for cultural youth workers affiliated to partner organizations in the EU, Turkey, Palestine, Kossovo, Norway and Azerbaijan.

Performing Erasmus+ is designed and coordinated by Kinitiras’ permanent Irish collaborator, Crooked House, and it will take place in Izmir, Turkey from 21 to 28 of April 2024.

The participants in this project will have the opportunity to train each other in using drama, film, dance, and performing arts methods as learning tools in Erasmus+ projects. That means that partners will get a good sense about how to structure mobility projects that use theatre, film or movement as the core learning methods. We will also introduce and share our experience in using KA2 projects that have creative methods at the core.

A second major idea is that the partners gathered will have time and space to initiate the outlines of at least one Erasmus+ each. We envisage that by the end of the training course they will have a solid understanding of how theatre, film and performance within an Erasmus+ program can meet the needs of their young people and of their organizations. With this understanding they will hopefully have begun at least one project, be it a mobility of young people or of staff or a partnership.
