HERE AND THERE (HAT), performing ecologies
Final report
Here and There (H.A.T.), performing ecologies is an original and inclusive Erasmus+ program for the ecology and the climate change, designed and implemented by Kinitiras, with the aim to raise awareness through the performing arts. It started in May 2022 in collaboration with the Irish Crooked House Theatre Company (Newbridge, Ireland).
Two groups of young people in Greece and Ireland, through theatre and dance workshops, discussions and artistic research, explored the role of ecology in our lives and how art can empower young people so they don’t feel weak and take action against climate change.
Here you can see the results of the process. We hope they will be a source of inspiration for similar artistic and educational actions to awaken the community regarding such a critical issue of climate change and ecology.
The members of the 2 groups, Greek and Irish, attended workshops from the fields of dance and theatre, rehearsed weekly and created site specific performances that were presented in Athens and Dublin respectively. At the end of August 2022, the artistic exchange of the two groups took place, with the visit of Crooked House in Athens. The participants attended joint workshops which culminated in the site specific performance Your body is a field, under the guidance of choreographer Aria Boumbaki. The goal of the two groups was from the beginning to raise public awareness on the issues of ecology:
