Ignition – Meeting in Athens
Ten months into the Erasmus+ Key Action2 partnership project Ignition, the project partners (Kinitiras, Crooked House, Foco, Süleyman Demirel Üniversitesi) met in Athens on 10-11 October 2026 to evaluate the progress made so far and plan the next stages of their collaboration.
Ignition aims to strengthen the quality of training available to youth drama and dance facilitators by developing educational resources grounded in the partners’ knowledge and practical experience. As part of this work, three guidebooks are being prepared, focusing on the principles and practices of drama and dance facilitation, as well as the impact of participation in these art forms on young people. The publications will be freely accessible through the website of the programme (www.ignitionproject.eu) and designed for people training to become drama and dance facilitators.
During the Athens meeting, the partners examined the first draft of the guidebook on drama facilitation and reviewed the development of the other two publications. Discussions also focused on the project’s video resources. A series of 12 videos is being developed to explore key theoretical concepts and support both trainers and learners in youth drama and dance facilitation.
Another important component of Ignition is the delivery of a 100-hour, in-person training programme in each partner country. These programmes will draw on the educational materials developed through the project and provide participants with the knowledge and skills needed to facilitate drama and dance activities with young people. The training programmes are scheduled to be announced in Spring 2027 so stay tuned…
The meeting in Athens marked another step forward in the development of these resources and the preparation of the upcoming training programmes.
