This work is a journey through the endless desert of choreography, which speculates over social movements, working conditions and hybrids of dance history.

The Art of Laboring listens to the choreography of birth, but also the birth of choreography: what does it mean to work, what does it mean to create and reactivate ideas, dances and situations; to be in labor. Two bodies dive in different choreographic territories and ideologies to test how working conditions affect future states of activities.

What is the status of the stage artist in todays employment relationships? What would Loie Fuller consider to be performance work in todays terms? What instructions would a post-conceptual choreographer give? What types of work is demanded to give birth to different speculations?

A work that observes choreographic movements and allows audience and performers to contemplate on the conditions and by-products of this workforce. TAoL speculates about alternative, unrecognised forms of work, in a future environment where dance and choreography no longer needs to be circulated through capitalist principles, but can be woven in imaginative work environments.
