«During the research and production development, the artists will be accompanied by an artistic expert» read the call for the initial version of the Transition Residency. Thus, when the time came to design the new version of the project, we already had in mind specific request as expressed by artists applying from all around the world, from South America to Japan, from Subsaharian Africa to Iceland. The pandemic brought to the fore certain aspects which were added to the wish list. So, for Transition I Enter Communities of Body we invited onboard, experts collaborating with Kinitiras who we knew will be offering the Artists reference points and the freedom to handle those however they feel like.

Alexandra Vassiliou and Vera Lardi are psychotherapists and adult educators.
The condition of the Covid-19 pandemic has stopped, overthrown and/or canceled a large percentage of artistic activity. The consequences were both social and personal. Relationships, groups, planning were all affected. Many of us felt frustrated, insecure and angry while some of us lost touch with our creativity and entered into an uninspired resignation. Gradually new avenues of artistic expression were opened; technology and the internet were used for creating a creative presence. In this experiential workshop we will study this transition as a personal and collective process. We will explore the changes that the use of digital media brings in communication, in the sense of proximity or distance, in the way one perceives his/ her own self and the others, as well as the necessary skills to move from a zone of comfort and intimacy to an area of new challenges.
