With the support of the J. F. Costopoulos Foundation, in September 2025, a four-day series of workshops, screenings, open discussion circles based on the practice of Antigone Gyra will take place at Technourgeio in Athens.
After the successful performances in Athens and Aegina, Kinitiras Youth continues its lifelong education as members of the group travel to Isparta, Turkey at the end of July, to participate in the Erasmus+ programme Akana, organised by our permanent partner from Ireland, Crooked House.
Starting from the village of Zitsa in Ioannina, where Antigone Gyra comes from, she will organize in July 2025 a training workshop for the local community, which consists of professionals and people of different ages with little experience in the field of performing arts.
With the support of the J. F. Costopoulos Foundation, Antigone Gyra will offer free of charge to professionals and amateurs of the performing arts workshops, lectures and screenings based on the methodology of movement that she has developed through her practice and continuous study and training over the last 30 years.
This year’s thematic umbrella of Kinitiras is Spirituality. We have chosen to frame our actions this year through the broad prism that this concept offers in the perception of life and art.
The book 10+1 dance stories consists of 10 stories inspired by encounters between people who shared how dance and writing are part of their lives and explored ways to dance, write, and create together. Stories of dances by, with, for different bodies, places, communities.
Members of Kinitiras will be in Izmir, Turkey during the week of 16-23 February 2025 participating in the Erasmus+ programme Moltóir 2 organised by our stable partner from Ireland, Crooked House.
Kinitiras, in the context of this year’s thematic umbrella “Spirituality”, presents the interactive walking performance by Antigone Gyra “Sunset in Voula”.
The lifelong learning groups of Kinitiras, Kinitiras (Dance Theatre) and Kinitiras Ω (Omega) are organised to start their meetings in early October in new venues in the centre of Athens.
Kinitiras has been actively organising and implementing Erasmus+ programmes for young and older people for the last few years.
