Using materials from music pluralism and traditional dances of the Mediterranean, we will focus on the composition of the presence of the performer on stage. A presence that combines different and perhaps conflicting elements of the performer’s identity such as the voice, the movement, the speech, the use of space and the relationship with the others. But always allowing the performer to maintain his/her special characteristics while working with others.

The workshop is open to anyone and leads to a sharing in the end.

Argyro Chioti is one of the founder members of Vasistas, a theatre group that works between Greece and France. Until now she has directed the performances “Apology 4 & 5” (2016), “Bloods” (2014), “Domino” (2013), “spectacle” (2011), «Phobia: a spectacle» (2010), “Silence” (2008-09), “Little red riding hood, me and my wolf” (2007), “Get over it” / “Phaedra” 2005).
With Vasistas she has also presented other performances such as “Rapture” for Stefanos Tsivopoulos’ exhibition “The future starts here” (2012, in collaboration with Efthymis Theos) and “Cassandra” of Benedetto Marcello in collaboration with the ensemble Latinitas Nostra and Phormigx Production Company (2009). As a director and actor she has worked on “Faust”, Goethe (National Theatre, 2008-2009). She has also worked as a theater professor in individuals with mental disabilities and Down syndrome in the Special Vocational Training Centre “Home”. As assistant director she has worked with: T.Mpanti, N.Chatzopoulo, Agnès del Amo. As an actor in the theatre she participated in: “Agamemnon” and “L’homme de son lit” (Mireille Guerre, 2012 and 2013), “masters Solna” (2012) “Orestes” (2010), “The house of dormant girls” (2003) (G.Chouvardas), “L’institut Benjamenta” (2004, Agnès del Amo), “Don or prohibited for women to enter” (2002, G.Tsorteki), “Angela” (2000, T.Mpanti).
She graduated as an actor from the Drama School “Morfes” of the Empros theatre (2000). She holds a BA in Theatre Studies and a Master’s degree on direction and dramaturgy from the University of Provence in France (2006). She also studied Literature’s Translation (French – Greek) at the French Institute of Athens (2002).
Vasistas theatre group received for Spectacle the honors distinction of National Association of Critics of theatre and music, (for innovating theatre play) (December 2011). Argyro Chioti received the Price “Eleftheria Sapoutzi” for her artistic work (September 2013).
