Kinitiras and Vicky Adamou invite you to a weekly workshop for actors, theatre students, and anyone interested in learning about and exploring LGBTQAI+ issues through education, theatrical practice, and collective creation.
The workshop combines educational material, personal exploration, and artistic research, with the ultimate goal of creating a performance by the group itself.

What We Will Explore
Through discussion, exercises, improvisation, and theatrical exploration, we will explore key concepts and issues surrounding gender, gender expression, gender identity, and sexual orientation. These topics will not be treated as a closed body of knowledge. They will serve as a starting point for exploration and creation.

From Training to the Stage
The theme and direction of the final performance will emerge from within the group itself. Using the tools of Devised Theatre, we will collect, process, and transform material as we seek to develop our own theatrical language.

The process may include:

• personal experiences and life stories
• real-life testimonies and documents
• contemporary texts and excerpts
• photographs and visual images
• improvisation and composition
• movement and physical theater
• voice and speech
• performance and contemporary stage practices

The resulting material will gradually be transformed into a contemporary collaborative work.

The workshop is aimed at people who want not only to learn more, but also to use theatre as a way to explore diversity, identity, relationships, and contemporary social realities and to transform this exploration into a performance.

Vicky Adamou is a director and actress. She studied at the G. Theodosiadis Drama School in Athens (1996) and the Vakalo School of Art and Design (1992). Since 1996, she has been a member of Kinitiras, where she served as the artistic director of Kinitiras Studio (2008–2014), taking on significant cultural, social, and humanitarian initiatives. She currently continues her artistic work with the Life After Death Theatre Company. As an artist, she has created productions addressing themes such as mental health, gender-based violence and stereotypes, and climate change. She has received funding from the Ministry of Culture and, in 2022, completed the “Heart Project”—a research initiative exploring the dual role of creator and performer- with the participation of prominent Greek artists.
Concurrently, she is a drama therapist and psychotherapist (ECP), a member of EEPSE and PEEDP, and trained at the “To Erma” Psychotherapy Center (2023). In 2024, she completed the Orlando LGBTQ+ program on gender, identity, and sexual orientation, and in 2026, she completed the B.E.A.R. training program on psychological trauma and the Processwork Hub’s “Basic Group Processes” (VADO). Since 1995, she has been systematically engaged in meditation and body-awareness practices (Yoga, Time Therapy, Processwork, Healing Meditation), while for the past five years, she has been training in the QiGong Shen Dao practice with Alain Ratié.
